I'm a sucker for photos, that's pretty obvious. And I'm very sentimental. So I need all the ways to have my memories for safe-keeping. Growing up, my mom was a big scrap booker. And I used to love (still do, actually) pulling all her scrapbooks off the shelf and going through my life and memories. It was such a special thing to be able to have. Now, with the internet and digital media, scrapbooking has kind of died. But there's something so much better about an actual tangible book than photos on a screen.
This is The Story Of You baby book. I love the quality and the fact that the pages are already laid out with prompts and events and milestones. It's designed with the parent in mind, so you don't have to spend hours upon hours designing each page and coming up with themes. It's all pre made, and all you have to do is add your memories.
A few examples of the prompts inside:
"Before you came along..."
"When we first met you we thought..."
For each month, "you spent most of this month...", "you surprised us when...", "this month, we learned..."
"Out on the town! A few of your favorite places are..."
"Here are some memories that couldn't go undocumented"
If you're confused by the text (guilty, haha), there's a description of what kind of photo to place there underneath where the photo will go.
These are prompts and topics that I never would have thought of myself. They challenge you to think and come up with the things that meant the most about that specific month/event/milestone to help you remember when you look back years upon years from now.
Here's how it works: You purchase the baby book, then register your book online and you'll receive the Everyday Print set for free, which is 25 prints for your book. I made the mistake of ordering my prints before the book, so some of the photos I printed don't really go with some of the pages. So it's much better to order the book first, see what photos you'll need to print and then order the prints. It also comes with the most gorgeous gold pen.
The book has 50 pages, 100 front and back, with spaces for 47 Everyday Prints. That means if you order 2 sets of Everyday Prints, you will have 3 photos left over to do with whatever you want!
Ever is equally obsessed with her book. She loved playing with the pictures and helping me tape them into the book. I'm so grateful that she'll have this book to look back on for the rest of her life, a timeless heirloom for generations to come, and I can't wait to go through it with her, reliving all the memories and the love we shared.
